Cauldhame Estate House informatie
Hieronder vind je wat gegevens die handig zijn voor ons verblijf op Cauldhame estate van Beverley
Dear Carolien & Addy
We are looking forward to welcoming you to Cauldhame next Friday and are sure you will have a lovely time here. I am sending you this welcome email to introduce myself and give you something to forward to the rest of your group.
Firstly, I apologise for my rather lengthy email of "rules" etc., which is a bit longer due to the COVID guidelines we are aiming to adhere to, in order to protect our guests, employees and ourselves in the best way available. I will start with the more important changes in relation to the COVID advice we have been given by our agents/Government etc.:
COVID-19 "House Rules"
- Arrival/departure times are now back to our usual: 4:00pm arrival and 10:00am depatrure NOTE: Wij mogen eerder aankomen!
- There will be a bottle of hand gel beside the entrance door - please ensure ALL of your party use this, before entering the building and please keep to the advised hand washing guidelines you will be familiar with.
- I will look out for your arrival and do my house "walk round" with you, outside before you enter the building. Please feel free to ask any questions then or before, by email, if you have any immediate queries.
- For your own safety and my cleaners time, a lot of the unwashable "extras" usually found in holiday houses i.e. toys, books, magazines, DVDs, ornaments etc. have been cleared away.
- Please keep the house clean, paying particular attention to the kitchen and bathrooms, which will be shared with others in your extended family gathering. There will be kitchen/bathroom sprays and cloths supplied for this, along with floor cleaner. We do not supply wipes as these are not flushable in our system.
- Please advise me of any signs of illness in your party before or after your stay here.
- Along with our own Cottage, there may be other holiday guests staying in the two holiday cottages also on site therefore, please be aware of this when using the extensive garden grounds around Cauldhame House & Cottages.
- Before departure:
- Please ensure that all bins (bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchen etc.) and recycling are emptied into the wheeled bins outside. Instructions for the various coloured bins are hanging to the right of the sink in kitchen & above the bins outside.
- Please bag all used bed linen (sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases) and towels, bathmats etc., including kitchen textiles, in the green laundry bags, left for this purpose in hall by the utility room. Please leave the pillow & mattress protectors in situ - our cleaners will treat with a fabric disinfectant spray to keep these, and all soft furnishings, as germ free as possible.
- Our cleaning team use PPE and have undergone specialist "COVID-19" training to ensure the house is as safe as possible, for our guests and ourselves.
- If you require to contact me during your stay, please send a text to the number below in the first instance. This number is also in the House book on the kitchen island.
Now the more usual House advice:
Getting Here:
Address: Cauldhame, Sheriffmuir, DUNBLANE, FK15 0LN
The easiest way of finding us is to use the What3Words App on your smartphone (https://what3words.com/about). Our location is "hiking.join.headless", which will take you to the electric gates at the bottom of our drive.
Otherwise, If you have satnav, the FK15 0LN postcode, from Dunblane, will usually take you, roughly, to an area between a small white cottage and a larger white cottage on the left. If you drive 100m further on, you will see the gates to Cauldhame (also on the left).
N.B. Do not use Google Maps App and the postcode only - it is incorrect and takes you off 2 miles in completely the wrong direction.
If you must use this app, is is essential that you use the main house name as well as the postcode., i.e. enter/search for "Cauldhame, FK15 0LN" and NOT just the postcode.
Electric Gates
Stray sheep, (and random nosey day trippers) have forced us to keep the gates to the driveway closed. This means that you will have to enter a code in order to gain entry/exit. The code will be 9297 "enter" (enter button is at the bottom left) and will need to be used for entering AND leaving Cauldhame. The gates will close automatically, quite quickly. Please note the gates open outwards but there is enough room to get your vehicles off the road. Could you please give each member of your party (and any supermarket delivery drivers etc.) a note of the gate code.
Parking
Please drive up the driveway and, turn towards the right at the top. You can park:
- Just past the conservatory against the main house - 4 or 5 cars here - please do not block the route down the south driveway from this side of the main house.
- Parallel with and against the azaleas above the wooden stables (opposite main house) - 3 cars or so here.
- Please leave both driveways, all gateways, entry doors and the roundabout clear at all times for safe fire exit routes and Estate/Farm/delivery employees & vehicles.
Arrival Time
The House will be ready for you from 4:00pm on Friday NOTE: Wij mogen eerder aankomen!
Food
As we do have antique furniture & fabrics in the house, and following various "accidents" by past guests, we now kindly ask that our guests do not take food items beyond the kitchen/dining room in the main house, please. "Adult nibbles" are OK in the first floor drawing room and ground floor family room, but we do ask that children with any kind of food/snack/drink remain in the easier cleaned areas, downstairs i.e. kitchen, dining room & conservatory.
Beds
We do not use waterproof mattress protection on any of our beds, so if required, please bring your own.
On the morning of your departure (by 10:00am please), could you please remove the used bed linen etc. from the beds along with any towels, bathmats and kitchen textiles you have used, and bag up into the green laundry bags left for this purpose, in the hall by the utility room (not against the door marked private, please).
WiFi
There is free WiFi at Cauldhame, which is not fibre and is limited by the distance we are from the nearest junction cabinet (5 miles) and can be very slow at times. The network access is provided to keep you up to date with emails and friends during your stay. While you surf, please help us keep the network experience great for everyone/future guests by saving large uploads, downloads, film & tv streaming and online gaming for your own home/private connection.
Important - Please Note:
- Please note the private drainage at Cauldhame is very sensitive to "wrong" items being flushed down the loos. Please keep to the usual P, P & P advice given by most water authorities throughout the UK. Nothing more than Poo, Pee & (loo) Paper should be flushed and definitely NO wipes (or condoms/sanitary/incontinence items etc.) of any kind, please.
- Please do not plug any car charging cables into the domestic electricity supply at Cauldhame. Unfortunately, the infrastructure here, serving the main house, two fully electric cottages as well as the water pumps/filtering building, a workshop and our own cottage, cannot support the extra load required to charge hybrid or fully electric cars.
Should you require any more information/directions my mobile number is 0772 108 2156, although it is usually better to contact me via email, or text as I could be anywhere on the Estate, with intermittent/no mobile reception.
And finally, please enjoy your stay at Cauldhame - we think it is a special place.
Kind regards
Bev
